DescriptionMaterial: woolen threads, linen, wood. Size: 15 cm She-goat and bear have been permanent characters of Russian fairy tales and celebrations. These animals were associated with the cult of fertility in Slavonic culture. She-goat was a symbol of life power which she had to share with the house host and his field to achieve better crops. She-goat is the amulet of a good mood - it is always merry and easy-going, it helps serious people to take everything easy and to forget about problems. It was usually brightly dressed and was decorated with different stuff, such as - horse-shoes, earrings, bells, beads, bags with herbs, sometimes - a wooden log – a ”present” for single men as a hint of the necessity to get married. When a celebration was over and a person was in a low mood - this doll helped to reconstruct the joyful and festive state.
