The manufacturing process details (how they make the oil):

The process include no chemical extraction.

1. First, they pick sea buckthorn berries in September, because September berries contain maximum amount of oil and carotinoids (compared to August harvest, for instance).

2. Second, they separate the seeds from the soft part of the berries and then they use the pulp only.

3. The pulp is mashed and centrifuged (to separate the oil) and they get oil concentrate as a result. The amount of carotinoids in the oil concentrate may differ from 380 to 520 mg%. This is way too much for prophylaxis (50 mg%)  and even for medicinal purposes (185 - 195 mg%).

4. So they mix sea buckthorn oil concentrate with certain amount of high quality sunflower oil to get the 50 mg% of carotinoids.

For your information, mg% is derived as amount of milligrams (mg) of the substance in 100 ml of the solution.
