Mastering Money Transfers to Russia: A Cosmic Guide to Using Cryptocurrency Wisely
Ah, cosmic currency travelers and financial space cadets, welcome back! You’ve made it to Part Two of our mystical money-moving manual, the follow-up to our first epic journey into the mysterious realms of Ruble transmission. For those of you who tuned into our first episode and still have burning questions about how to safely navigate the cryptic cryptocurrency cosmos, rest assured: we have answers! In fact, we have two BIG answers, perfectly suited to the two BIG questions our curious cosmic companions have been asking. So, settle in, buckle up, and let’s get into it!
Cosmic Query #1: How do we keep the high-flying, unpredictable, and sometimes hair-raising cryptocurrency from spinning out of orbit as we beam it over to Russia?
The solution is as simple as chanting “Om” three times! Just follow these three easy-peasy steps:
Stage 1: First, you teleport yourself to the land of borscht and balalaikas, aka Russia, on a 3-month visa. This visa, by the way, is issued to travelers from lands with a mix of values but a shared love for harmony, also known as the countries that Russia thinks are "on the right path." Once there, you’ll need a place to lay your weary head, a bank account (Sberbank works great), and the all-important Temporary Residence Permit. Boom. You’re officially "cosmic citizen lite."
Stage 2: Now it’s time for some intercontinental teleportation action. You return to your homeland to gather your earthly belongings for the great Ruble pilgrimage. Once you’re ready, you fire up BestChange.ru and transform your savings into the mystic energy of Ethereum. Zap! In 30-60 minutes, your USD or Euros is Ethereum-ized. And to your home bank, this looks like a totally mundane, normal, everyday transfer of funds from one private account to another. They’ll never know you’re working your own financial magic.
Stage 3: Now comes the quick pivot. The very same day (we want to dodge any unexpected volatility meteors), you hop back onto BestChange.ru and convert your Ethereum into Rubles. In about an hour or two, you’ve got that cash safely on your Russian Sberbank card, safe from the swirling seas of crypto fluctuations.
Cosmic Query #2: What kind of commission should one expect to pay, and how much of my cosmic cash might be beamed away?
Good question! From our own trans-dimensional transfers, we’ve observed that commissions on this kind of transaction range between 3% and 3.5%, maxing out at around 4%.
Now let’s walk through an example. Imagine you’ve got $10,000 that you want to convert from USD to Ethereum to Rubles. To make this even more clear, we’re including some actual screenshots from the portal of digital exchange (taken on November 2, 2024, within a 15-minute interval).
Screenshot 1 |
Screenshot 1 (from the btcbit.net exchange) shows that for $10,000, you’ll acquire 3.81148 ETH, with a commission of $351—roughly 3.5% of your original amount. Then, Screenshot 2 (from paymarket.cc), taken just 15 minutes later, shows that your 3.81148 ETH will net you 921,258 Rubles on your Sberbank card. Presto! You’re now 921,258 Rubles richer (and a bit wiser).

To put this into perspective, if on that very day, November 2, 2024, you’d walked into a Russian bank and exchanged $10,000 in cash for rubles, you’d have received somewhere around 950,000 to 960,000 Rubles (see Screenshot 3). So, you’d have about 29,000 - 39,000 more rubles if you’d used cash—representing a maximum transfer commission of about 3.9%.

And for a little cosmic comparison, PayPal’s transaction fees can rocket up to 5%, so not a bad deal at all, right?
